User Interface

Floating Button

A subtle floating button appears on supported pages. Hover near the right edge to reveal it. Drag to reposition anywhere on the screen.

Context Menu

Right-click anywhere on the page and select "Collect Chat" from the menu. Quick access without any visible UI.

Customizable

Toggle the floating button or context menu on/off. Set default behaviors for summaries and Notion saving in preferences.

Notifications

Get instant feedback on export success or failure. Non-intrusive notifications that disappear automatically.

Privacy First

ChatCollector processes everything locally in your browser. We don't collect, store, or transmit any of your data. Your conversations stay private. The extension is open source so you can verify this yourself.

Export Format

Exported conversations include:

Metadata header: Platform, date, and conversation title
Clear role labels: Messages are labeled with "User:" and "Assistant:" (or the AI's name)
Preserved formatting: Bold, italic, lists, headers, and links
Code blocks: Syntax highlighting language markers preserved
Optional summary: AI-generated summary at the top when enabled

Notion Integration Details

When saving to Notion, you can choose between two modes:

Database mode: Creates a new page in your database with properties like Title, Platform, and Date. Great for searchable archives.
Page mode: Appends the conversation to an existing page. Perfect for collecting related conversations in one place.
