1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using ChatCollector ("the extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the extension.

2. Description of Service

ChatCollector is a free Chrome browser extension that allows you to export conversations from ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini to Markdown format. The extension includes optional AI summarization features powered by Google's Gemini API.

3. License

ChatCollector is open source software licensed under the MIT License. You are free to:

• Use the extension for personal or commercial purposes
• Modify the source code
• Distribute copies of the extension
• Sublicense the extension

4. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Using the extension in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Respecting the Terms of Service of ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini platforms
• Securing any API keys you provide to the extension
• The content you export and how you use that content
• Any costs associated with using third-party services (like Gemini API)

5. Third-Party Services

ChatCollector integrates with third-party services:

• ChatGPT: OpenAI's ChatGPT service (chat.openai.com, chatgpt.com)
• Claude: Anthropic's Claude service (claude.ai)
• Gemini: Google's Gemini service (gemini.google.com)
• Gemini API: Google's Gemini API for AI summarization (optional)

Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms of service. We are not responsible for any changes, interruptions, or discontinuation of these third-party services.

6. No Warranty

ChatCollector is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• That the extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• That exported data will be accurate or complete

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kyle Northup and ChatCollector shall not be liable for any:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
• Damages resulting from your use or inability to use the extension
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data
• Statements or conduct of any third party using the extension

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kyle Northup and ChatCollector from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the extension
• Your violation of these Terms of Service
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations

9. Privacy

Your use of ChatCollector is subject to our Privacy Policy. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data or conversation content.

10. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue the extension at any time
• Update features or functionality
• Change these Terms of Service

Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

11. Open Source

ChatCollector is open source software. The source code is available at github.com/kylnor/ChatCollector. Contributions, issues, and feedback are welcome through GitHub.

12. Termination

You may stop using ChatCollector at any time by uninstalling the extension. We may terminate or suspend access to the extension immediately, without prior notice, for any reason.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ChatCollector regarding the use of the extension.
